Courtney Morgan, the program’s new general manager, was on the same plane as new football head coach Kalen DeBoer and athletic director for Alabama, but his formal announcement didn’t come until recently.

Having worked under DeBoer for several years in a similar capacity at Washington, Fresno State, and San Jose State in 2019, Morgan is familiar with the way the head coach operates a programme.
Morgan takes seriously his responsibility to uphold DeBoer’s system and advance the interests of the Crimson Tide in his role within the Alabama programme.

You should anticipate Morgan being highly involved on the recruiting trail as a staff member who will work with players on the roster and forge ties and connections with recruits and their families.

TUSCALOOSA, Alabama: On Friday, Courtney Morgan was formally hired by head football coach Kalen DeBoer of the University of Alabama to be the general manager of the Crimson Tide.

Morgan was the coach’s first job at Alabama. He served as DeBoer’s director of player personnel and general manager at Washington for the previous two seasons.

“Coutney is such an important part of our programme,” DeBoer stated. “He is crucial to our efforts to find and assess talent in high schools and through the transfer portal because of his excellent relationships throughout the nation. I am thrilled to be able to welcome Courtney to Tuscaloosa since he is a key component of our goals at Alabama.”

In addition to supervising and managing the day-to-day activities of the recruiting and personnel departments, Morgan will be responsible for managing the Crimson Tide’s roster. Along with assisting with transfer portal evaluations, he will assist with head coach film evaluations and prospect communication. Morgan is also in charge of overseeing Alabama football’s internal brand management.

“I love working for Coach DeBoer and I am looking forward to continuing the standard that Alabama football has set,” Morgan stated. “We all share the same objective as a staff, and we have faith in Coach DeBoer’s methodology for success.
