With the 13th overall pick in this year’s NFL Draft, the Las Vegas Raiders are still able to choose a quality player without needing to make a trade up. Or, it shouldn’t be too expensive for them to go up a few slots if they decide to do so.

In addition to having flexibility in the draft, Las Vegas needs to address a number of positions. Josh Edwards, an NFL Draft writer for CBS Sports, points out that the Raiders may select strong players in all draft rounds to fill needful spots. The top quarterbacks in the draft that a few NFL teams should consider taking a shot on were named by Edwards.

“The Jimmy Garoppolo experiment is coming to an end in Las Vegas,” Edwards stated.

“Aidan O’Connell, who is about to begin his second season with the organization, will have competition from them. Owner Mark Davis seems to find Rattler’s demeanor appealing. This season, Rattler took advantage of a difficult circumstance in Columbia by playing behind a different offensive line combination nearly every week.”

Rattler’s ability to make plays with his feet when necessary and effectively pass from the pocket makes him a potential great fit for new Raiders offensive coordinator Luke Getsy, according to Edwards.

“It appears that Las Vegas could favor a more conventional pocket quarterback like O’Connell based on the makeup of the coaching staff. Eli Manning was a teammate of head coach Antonio Pierce, according to Edwards.

“The presence of Will Levis attracted quarterbacks coach Rich Scangarello to Lexington, as he has a long history of working with Kyle Shanahan.” Luke Getsy, the offensive coordinator, had previously worked with Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay but most recently collaborated with Justin Fields in Chicago.”

“There was a period where it looked as though Getsy and Fields were on different pages trying to blend in the the Packers offense, but the two parties adapted and actually put some quality play together towards the end of the season.”
