In order to keep their spotless record intact, Georgia defeated the Missouri Tigers at home on Saturday. Let’s examine the positive, negative, and ugly aspects of the game.
With the season coming to an end, the rankings become increasingly significant with each passing game. The Bulldogs entered the game with zero wins in the rankings, but they won their first one against Missouri, and they have two more remaining against Ole Miss and Tennessee. Although Georgia failed to cover the point spread, they managed to defeat one of the stronger SEC teams this year by nine points, bringing them one step closer to winning the division.

The main worry going into this game was Missouri’s potential to smash deep balls and set off explosives, but Georgia’s defense did not have any problems with that. Cody Schrader amassed 22 carries, 112 yards, and a touchdown while they gave up 151 running yards.
Georgia often thrives at rush defense, but against Missouri, that was not the case. With Ole Miss, a run-first team with a quarterback who can get out of the pocket and create plays on his own, like Brady Cook did against the Bulldogs, that would be something to watch.
Throughout the Saturday game, Georgia had multiple opportunities but was unable to take advantage of them. Nazir Stackhouse returned an interception well within the 10-yard line late in the game, but it was called back because of a penalty. That was one of those instances. After that, the Bulldogs had to make do with three points. The offense, headed by Carson Beck, marched down the field with efficiency and had a chance to start the game with a score, but they had to settle for a field goal.
Georgia will need to raise their red zone conversion percentage as the season progresses and ensure that they are scoring touchdowns when they get the chance.
