A.J. Brown, the star receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles, is among the best in his position, but this season, his inability to control his emotions has hurt his teammates.
Near the end of Philadelphia’s shocking 35-31 loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, Brown was clearly irritated. After the game, he had four catches for 53 yards and declined to talk to reporters—this is the second week in a row he has declined to be interviewed.
“I’m not going to speak now. That’s not nothing to say, according to Brown.
In response to a question about the origin of his discontent, Brown told reporters, “It ain’t directed toward y’all.”
Hayes reported that Brown is “directed toward the coaching staff” in reference to “according to teammates.”
With 1,447 receiving yards on 105 receptions and seven touchdowns, Brown is ranked third in the NFL. The Eagles are in a late-season slump, having dropped four of their previous five games, despite his dominance.
At first, Philadelphia appeared to be the front-runner to win the NFC and play in the Super Bowl for a second year in a row, but it appears as though they may be headed out of the playoffs early.
In their season-ending game against the New York Giants on Sunday, the Eagles will look to get back on track.
