It’s been a terrible year for injuries for Real Madrid. Before the season even started, Thibaut Courtois tore his ACL, and Eder Militao sustained the same injury in the opening La Liga match of the year against Athletic Bilbao. Recently, Arda Guler had surgery as well. It now appears that Vinicius Junior may also be sidelined for some time.
It seemed as though Vinicius sustained a hamstring injury during the match against Celta Vigo. After collapsing and receiving medical attention, the Brazilian attempted to stand up again. However, he was unable to hold out for very long and was eventually replaced in the eighteenth minute.
At first, it was assumed that the injury was not serious and that he would only miss one game before making a return following the international break. However, it appears that this could be a more serious problem.
After Vinicius was evaluated, it appeared that his injury would keep him out longer than initially thought, as reported by The Athletic. The next day, he was examined again, and the same concerning indicators were found. He is scheduled to have a scan, and a minimum of one month is anticipated to pass during this time.
Of course, Real Madrid is devastated to learn of Vinicius’ injury. The team lost perhaps their most valuable player, and they already lacked depth in the forward positions.
