Greetings and welcome to SB Nation Reacts, an NFL fan survey. We pose questions to the nation’s most engaged 49ers supporters as well as those in the San Francisco Bay Area throughout the year. To take part in the weekly email surveys, register here.

With a shoulder injury he suffered early in the game, Brandon Aiyuk was struggling to play in the 49ers’ Week 2 matchup against the Rams. Playing slightly more than thirty snaps, Aiyuk made an effort to ignore his injury. Aiyuk probably made it through on adrenaline, but the 49ers have a game on Thursday night, which means a short turnaround.

Although Aiyuk plays a major role in the 49ers offense, should he be pushed on a short week to take on the visiting New York Giants? The Arizona Cardinals were defeated by the Giants in a thrilling comeback game. The Giants were soundly embarrassed by Dallas at home in Week 1 on national television.

The offensive line of the 49ers is full of playmakers. Deebo Samuel and Christian McCaffrey were more than sufficient to help the 49ers secure a victory in Los Angeles. And there’s that guy George Kittle. Thursday appears to be the ideal day to involve Kittle more and relieve McCaffrey of some of his workload.

The opponent and the short week are the two main considerations when determining a star player’s status. Despite Aiyuk’s absence, the 49ers are simply superior to the Giants. This also applies to the upcoming game against the Arizona Cardinals.

By saying that Saquon Barkley feels much better today after spraining his ankle at the end of the game on Sunday in Arizona, Brian Daboll is employing a little “gamesmanship” with the 49ers. Amazingly, Barkley might be a “game-time” decision even though the injury was first thought to require several weeks to heal. Barkley probably won’t play, and the Giants will suffer a terrible loss.

The two main variables that determine a star player’s status are the opponent and the short week. Notwithstanding Aiyuk’s injury, the 49ers are simply superior to the Giants. For the upcoming game against the Arizona Cardinals, the same holds true.

In light of Saquon Barkley’s sprained ankle sustained at the end of Sunday’s game in Arizona, Brian Daboll is employing a little “gamesmanship” with the 49ers by saying Barkley feels much better today. After being ruled out for several weeks, Barkley might now be a “game-time” decision, thanks to a miraculous recovery. That would be a terrible loss for the Giants if Barkley doesn’t play.
