The Cleveland Browns will be looking to improve during the offseason after losing to the Houston Texans 45-14 in the Wild Card Round. Their defensive line, where Myles Garrett needs more support, is one area they could be looking to improve.

Veteran defensive tackle Fletcher Cox is one player Cleveland may target. Cox has been a member of the Philadelphia Eagles for the entirety of his career thus far. But according to CBS Sports’ Cody Benjamin, it might be time for Cox to start over.

After playing for the Eagles for twelve seasons, Cox is an Eagles football fanatic. In addition, he appeared revitalized during a depressing 2023 defense. But in Philly, it’s time to turn the page. “How about getting together with Jim Schwartz, an old friend?”

Given that Cox has spent the last ten or more years being associated with Eagles football, it would be odd to see him in a different uniform.

In the first round (12th overall) of the 2012 NFL Draft, Philadelphia chose Cox. Ever since, he’s made it his mission to make sure they didn’t look back on their choice. Cox was selected for four All-Pro teams and has been selected to the Pro Bowl six times. In addition, he was selected to the NFL’s 2010s All-Decade Team. In 2018, he contributed to the Eagles’ historic first-ever Super Bowl victory.

Cox must first determine whether he wants to pursue a career in sports before he can choose which team to play for in the upcoming season. Though there have been rumblings that the veteran tackle might retire, Cox stated he hasn’t made up his mind in an interview with the media in Las Vegas prior to Super Bowl 58.

Regarding his future, Cox stated, “I’m just taking it day-by-day.” “I have not had any decisions made for me. I’m just learning to go with the flow, letting things happen as they happen. I’m thrilled to be performing in Philadelphia. It was undoubtedly enjoyable this year.”

Given that Cox, 33, is still a productive player, it will be interesting to watch what he chooses to do in the end.
