The Renegades started the XFL season with Drew Plitt at quarterback. He started the team’s first two games as they defeated Vegas before losing to Houston.
As a result, Bob Stoops decided to bench him at quarterback and give Kyle Sloter the reins. The offense became unstable as a result of Sloter and Plitt splitting time during the chaotic next few weeks.
In the seventh week, Plitt finally regained control, but he was hurt. Luis Perez also joined the team at that same time and went on to earn a starting position for the remainder of the season. Even though Drew and Arlington ultimately won the XFL Championship, he spent the majority of the season on the bench.
During his tenure as the Renegades’ quarterback, Drew Plitt completed passes for 668 yards and three touchdowns. Along with finishing 63% of his pass attempts, he also threw five interceptions.
Rick Mueller, the general manager, is gradually but steadily filling up the remaining spots on the roster. With the addition of LB Jordan Wright and DB Duron Lowe, the team now has 72 players signed for the next campaign.
Whether or not starting quarterback Luis Perez will return is still up in the air. Currently, Lindsey Scott Jr. and Holton Ahlers are also members of the Renegades.
