The Nebraska football team has some major surprises on the injury list heading into its biggest game of the season, both positive and negative.

In terms of the Huskers becoming bowl eligible, it has taken two. It may be argued that this game will be more difficult to get to because Nebraska is the underdog playing the Maryland Terapins at home.

Before its biggest game of the season, the Nebraska football team had a number of surprising injuries, both good and bad.

It has taken two for the Huskers to be bowl eligible. One could argue that because Nebraska is the underdog against the Maryland Terapins at home, this game will be more challenging to get to.

In Newsome’s absence, Tamon Lynum, Malcolm Hartzog, and Tommi Hill will be Nebraska Football’s primary cornerbacks. It’s important to note that Hartzog was hurt this week, but he isn’t included in the report, suggesting that he is well again.

The fact that Newsome was the lone name on the injury report suggests that some of the other players may be returning.

Princewill Umanmielen, a rookie defensive lineman, is one of them. Head coach Matt Rhule wasn’t sure if he would be ready versus Maryland earlier this week, as he has been going through the concussion protocol. It seems that he is.

The tale of Billy Kemp IV is another. Last week, he was marked as dubious; however, it was then revealed that although he could return punts, he was not permitted to truly run with them.

He’s not on the list at all for this week. That might indicate that he’s totally recovered and will play both returner and receiver.

It’s important to note that Rhule occasionally plays fast and loose with the injury report. He formally removed quarterback Jeff Sims from the report earlier this season, but he acknowledged that Sims wasn’t quite well yet.

For the remainder of the day, Nebraska Football fans will be interested in learning how much playing time Kemp receives versus Maryland.
