Following his retirement as a coach, Saban joins ESPN. The 72-year-old began instructing in 1973 and had been at it for 50 years. After concluding his coaching career, Saban is entering the media realm, a move that many of his colleagues have made before him.

The legendary player from Alabama is anticipated to serve mostly as an analyst on the set of “College GameDay,” ESPN’s weekly college football road show, the network stated in a statement. He has made a number of guest appearances on the show over the years, and now he will be travelling with host Rece Davis and analysts Pat McAfee, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, and Lee Corso.

Saban stated, “I’m honoured to have the opportunity to join their team. ESPN and ‘College GameDay’ have played such an important role in the growth of college football.” “I’ll do my best to offer additional insights and perspectives to contribute to ‘College GameDay,’ the ultimate Saturday tradition for college football fans.”

Furthermore, Saban will be involved in ESPN’s coverage of the NFL Draft and participate in events related to SEC Media Days.

ESPN Chairman Jimmy Pitaro described Nick Saban as “a singular, iconic presence in college football.” “He is also an extremely gifted communicator, who will immediately add even more credibility, authority, and entertainment value to ESPN, including our esteemed ‘College GameDay’ show.”
