The versatile pass-catcher has established himself as one of the most important players in Dan Campbell’s offensive system. According to reports prior to the NFC Championship Game, LaPorta has no injury designation, which means he will start against the 49ers and likely be Jared Goff’s primary receiving option.Jonah Jackson, the starting guard, has been formally ruled out, so the same cannot be said about him. The most valuable player on the Detroit Lions’ all-star offensive line will have to miss the Super Bowl.Though Jackson had surgery following a small meniscus tear suffered during Detroit’s Divisional Round victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, this shouldn’t come as a surprise to on-the-lookout Lions supporters.
