Star winger Kirill Kaprizov of the Minnesota Wild was placed on injured reserve on Wednesday.
Kaprizov was repeatedly cross-checked in the back by Brenden Dillon, which resulted in an upper-body injury late in the Jets’ 4-2 defeat on Saturday. With thirteen goals and twenty-one assists thus far this season, Kaprizov is the team’s top scorer.
This season, the 26-year-old winger is the most recent member of the Wild to be placed on injured reserve. Like Kaprizov, goalie Filip Gustavsson freeis regarded as week-to-week after being placed on injured reserve on Monday due to a lower-body ailment.
Although Vinni Lettieri, Gustavsson, and Kaprizov are all due to return from injured reserve on Sunday, Michael Russo of The Athletic, a wild insider, says he doesn’t “presume any will be ready.”
