The Nebraska Cornhuskers basketball team plays the Wisconsin Badgers on Thursday night in what is likely to be the biggest game of the season.  of Juwan Garymatchup is even more significant because the Huskers have never won a Big Ten game away from home.

The Huskers are hoping to get one of their big guns back for a number of reasons, including just that. For the time being, it’s encouraging that Juwan Gary hasn’t been completely ruled out.

The forward is unlikely to be anywhere close to “full-go,” even if he is able to return and play on Thursday night. If Gary makes a comeback, Robin Washut of On3 said on social media that the strategy will be to “ease him back” into the mix.

Even so, a Juwan Gary that plays for ten to fifteen minutes is still preferable to one that plays for none at all. Of course, the Nebraska Cornhuskers should be pleased that he may even be able to play a few minutes only a few weeks after sustaining an injury.

The injury Gary sustained against Rutgers looked far more serious at the time than it actually was. Many speculated that the Husker forward might be sidelined for the entire season due to an Achilles injury.

Throughout a season full of highs and lows, the daily calf strain was a huge relief. Juwan Gary’s inability to return against Maryland, a game in which the Nebraska Cornhuskers basketball team could have used him, was one of those downs.c
