Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Fletcher Cox (91) between plays during the second quarter of the Philadelphia Eagles and Tampa Bay Buccaneers Wild Card game at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fla. on Sunday, January 16, 2022.

One of the team’s most important defensive players, Fletcher Cox, presents the Philadelphia Eagles with a difficult choice.

After the Eagles made major defensive line additions in the last two NFL draft classes with the additions of Jordan Davis and Jalen Carter, Cox is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agency this spring.

Following a successful 2023 season, Cox is expected to be among the market’s most sought-after free agents. The Cleveland Browns may come calling for Cox’s talents, according to CBS Sports.

Cody Benjamin stated for CBS Sports that “Cox lives and breathes Eagles football.” having completed his twelfth season with the group. In addition, he appeared revitalised during a depressing 2023 defence. But in Philly, it’s time to turn the page. Would Jim Schwartz, an old acquaintance, be up for a reunion?

From 2016 to 2020, when Schwartz was the Eagles’ defensive coordinator, Cox recorded 196 total tackles with 32.5 sacks, 5 fumble recoveries, 1 touchdown return, and 1 Super Bowl ring.

After playing out his age-33 season and ending with 5.0 sacks, 33 total tackles, and 3 tackles for loss, it’s simple to see why Cox may fit in with the Browns and have a strong free agent market available to him.
