Pittsburgh It appeared as though the Pittsburgh Steelers’ pursuit of an offensive coordinator was about to take a positive turn. Any fan hoping for a San Francisco 49ers passing game coordinator at halftime of the NFC Championship game was excited that their team was going to get an interview.
They will now have to wait an additional two weeks.
It’s not necessary for the Steelers to wait until after the Super Bowl to speak with a 49ers staff member, but why wouldn’t they go forward if they held waited until now? And while it wouldn’t be a problem now if their most recent interview hadn’t taken place, it does.
Arthur Smith, the head coach of the Atlanta Falcons in the past, might force the Steelers to make a tough choice. Smith believes he is the first applicant the Steelers would really consider hiring. They now have to hope that, at the very least, he doesn’t accept a job for the next two weeks.
That does not bode well.
Would they therefore continue to hope for Klint Kubiak? Do they even think he’s attractive? We won’t know for sure for another two weeks.
