This season, the top player in the world has already won the UK Championship and the Masters.

O’Sullivan, a vocal opponent of the snooker schedule, claims that the season has been difficult.

The 48-year-old posted on X, saying, “I hope to see you all soon and I’m sorry I won’t be there.”

“I adore the occasion and the German supporters, but my health and happiness must come first.

“It’s been a tiring and challenging season for me so far, despite how it may seem with the tournament wins so hope you understand.”

The seven-time world champion has won fifteen of the last sixteen games and has only lost three of the 33 thus far this season.

He won a thrilling World Open qualification in Barnsley on Wednesday, capping off his triumph in the World Grand Prix last week with a victory over Alfie Burden.

In the German Masters draw, Barry Pinches will replace O’Sullivan and face Julien Leclercq in the tournament that gets underway on Monday.
