Washington offered coach Kalen DeBoer a “Big Ten package” that would have made him among college football’s top ten highest-paid coaches before he departed for Alabama, Huskies athletic director Troy Dannen claimed.
The Alabama football coaching hunt is underway, and Nick Saban’s replacement will be announced soon.
Saban announced his retirement on Wednesday, after 17 seasons with the Crimson Tide, during which he won six national championships, ten SEC West titles, and nine conference championships. Saban retired after a half-century of coaching, during which he won seven national titles and accomplished countless other goals.

He is known for keeping his coaching searches under wraps, but a decision will most certainly be made quickly. Alabama athletes are impatiently awaiting the decision before deciding whether to stay or transfer. Due to Saban’s departure, Crimson Tide athletes now have a 30-day window to do so.
