Elisa Longo Borghini leads Lotte Kopecky by one second heading into Sunday’s final stage at the Giro d’Italia Women after a pulsating battle up the mythical Blockhaus. But the day went to Australia’s Neve Bradbury, who produced the ride of her fledgling career to take a sensational solo triumph and catapult herself into third place in the race for pink. Bradbury is 1’12” off the overall lead.

Elisa Longo Borghini (Lidl-Trek) claimed the biggest stage race title of her career as she fought off Lotte Kopecky (SD Worx-Protime) to win the Giro d’Italia Women.
Just one second separated the two GC rivals heading into the eighth and final stage in the mountains, with Longo Borghini stalking her Belgian rival throughout Sunday’s run to L’Aquila.
With three riders up the road and bonus seconds off the table, the Italian just needed to ensure Kopecky did not gap her on the line. She did more than that.
