So far this offseason, the UCLA Bruins football team has seen a number of players come and go. With the increased use of the transfer portal, it has become standard practice in college football.
With their move to the Big Ten Conference, UCLA should benefit from the addition of some talented players in the upcoming campaign. Star quarterback Ethan Garbers is back, and they’ve also acquired some new offensive weapons for him to employ.
Rico Flores Jr., a wide receiver, was formally welcomed to the team by the Bruins. He joined the team approximately a month ago, but he is now formally a part of the programme.
Flores Jr. joins from Notre Dame, where he excelled during his first year. For the Fighting Irish, Flores Jr. caught 27 passes for 392 yards and one touchdown in 11 games.
He was a huge play threat for Notre Dame, averaging 14.5 yards per grab. Flores Jr. will now contribute to UCLA’s offence, which occasionally struggled to remain steady.
Flores Jr. will provide them an additional potent threat that Garbers may employ. It will be intriguing to see head coach Chip Kelly work because he is among the best in the nation at combining various concepts to get his playmakers engaged.
