The NBA announced today that Miami HEAT center/forward Bam Adebayo was selected the Eastern Conference Player of the Week for games played Monday, January 8 through Sunday, January 14. Adebayo has won Player of the Week twice in his career, and this is the 61st time in HEAT history that a player has done so.After averaging 23.0 points, 11.0 rebounds, 5.8 assists, 1.00 blocks, and shooting 56.5 percent from the field, Adebayo helped lead Miami to a 3-1 record for the week.

He recorded a double-double in every game and, as of right now, has five straight games in which he has at least 20 points and 10 rebounds, which ties the longest streak of his career.

Along with LeBron James and Shaquille O’Neal, he is the only player to have a 20-point, 10-rebound stretch that spans at least five games for the HEAT. He has also achieved this record more than once this season.

Over the course of the four games, he led the team in rebounds, points, blocks, minutes, plus/minus, and assists three times.

Against Houston on January 8, Adebayo started the week with a 22-point, 12-rebound double-double, earning his 100th assist of the year in the process.

His current season marks his eighth straight with at least 100 assists, which is the second-longest streak in HEAT history (only Dwyane Wade has more with 14 seasons).

In a game against Oklahoma City on January 10, he recorded a double-double of 25 points, 11 rebounds, and a game-high six assists.

He then backed it up on January 12 against Orlando, where he recorded a game-high +17 plus/minus in addition to a double-double of 21 points, 11 rebounds, and seven assists.

In the week’s last game against Charlotte on January 14, Adebayo recorded a double-double of 24 points, 10 rebounds, and once more dished out a game-high seven assists. Furthermore,

Adebayo currently leads the club in double-doubles (20) this season and has 169 career double-doubles, which is the fourth-most in team history.
