The Mariners are hoping to right the ship today after two painful losses to the Angels. They will need to find a way to generate some sort of offense, following two games in which they put up a combined two runs. The Mariners lineup is without two of their key players with shortstop J.P. Crawford and center fielder Julio Rodriguez who are both sidelined with injuries. Hopefully, the new players the Mariners just called up to fill in can hold the line while Rodriguez and Crawford are out.

The Mariners will send Luis Castillo to the mound for the series finale with the Angels. This year against the Angels, Castillo has yet to allow a run in 13 innings. Castillo is looking to continue that success versus the Angels on Wednesday. In his previous outing against the Astros, Castillo went seven innings and allowed runs on six hits. Castillo will need to pitch at his best to give the Mariners a chance to win on Wednesday.

The Angels will have Griffin Canning pitch the final game of this series. Canning pitched well in his previous outing versus the Mariners giving up just one run in 6.2 IP against the Mariners back on June 2nd. Canning was roughed up in his previous outing against the A’s on July 19th, where he gave up six runs on six hits in just 3.1 IP. He is (1-6) in his last nine starts, giving 29 ER in 49 IP. Which means there is a little light of hope that the Mariners can find success against Canning on Wednesday.
