Wales international Callum Sheedy alerted Cardiff to the availability of new signing Dan Thomas, it has emerged.
Thomas followed Sheedy down the M4 from Bristol this summer, with the flanker tipped to be one of the signings of the season after a number of years impressing in the Gallagher Premiership.
And he’s grateful to Sheedy for putting his name forward to the Cardiff hierarchy after signing himself.
Thomas said: “I think Sheeds was sorted months before me, but now I’m thankful for Sheeds because he pushed my name forward to come to Cardiff as well.
“Matt Sherratt has given me an opportunity at Cardiff and I’m very grateful for that so it feels as if I have to repay him for that as well.
“The aim is to play for Cardiff, enjoy myself, enjoy my rugby and hopefully win games as well. At the end of the day I’m here to win games and hopefully everyone on the team has the desire to win games.
“That’s what makes rugby more enjoyable, really, when you’re winning games and enjoying it with your mates. That’s the best time.”
