It appears that Josh Heupel could be about to add to his growing 2025 recruiting class to the detriment of a big-name program.
Both Steve Wiltfong and Chad Simmons of On3 Sports has logged a projection for TE DaSaahn Brame to flip his commitment from Oregon to Tennessee.
The pickup would be a big one for Heupel if Brame indeed does make the jump to the Vols. Brame (Derby High School; Derby, Kansas) is the 101st ranked overall prospect in On3 Sports’ industry ratings. He’s also listed as the 4th overall tight end and 3rd ranked player in the state of Kansas.
Brame took official visits over the last two months to LSU, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Oregon, with the Ducks getting the most recent visit on June 21. He committed and joined the Ducks’ fifth-ranked class on June 29.
Brame would become the second tight end commitment in the 2025 class. Heupel secured a commitment from four-star tight end Jack Van Dorselaer back on January 7.
Tennessee hasn’t featured its tight end all that much in Josh Heupel’s offense. However, with a talent like Holden Staes this fall and possibly both Van Dorselaer and Brame, perhaps that could begin to change.
