West Ham United are among the clubs who are showing interest in Manchester United full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Telegraph Sport understands.
West Ham are working hard to strengthen their defence this summer and, alongside their pursuit of Wan-Bissaka, have now agreed a deal with Nice for highly rated defender Jean-Clair Todibo.
Wan-Bissaka also has interest from Turkish clubs Galatasaray and Fenerbahce but it remains to be seen whether the 26-year-old is willing to leave Old Trafford this year.
Wan-Bissaka has just one season remaining on his current contract at United, meaning that he will be able to depart as a free agent next summer.
United’s expectation is that he will generate serious interest from Premier League clubs in this transfer window, which represents their last chance to sell him for a significant fee.
An offer from West Ham would give Wan-Bissaka an opportunity to return to London, where he was born and where he came through the academy ranks at Crystal Palace.
West Ham have already boosted their defensive options with the £40 million signing of Max Kilman from Wolves, and are now hoping they can agree personal terms with Todibo, the 24-year-old French international.
The agreed deal between West Ham and Nice is understood to be a loan move for the season with an option to buy Todibo for around £27 million.
Personal terms are yet to be finalised, however, and it has been reported in Todibo’s native France that he would prefer to join Juventus instead. United had been keen to sign Todibo but, as Nice are owned by Ineos, wereoing so because of Uefa’s multi-club ownership rules.
Another Premier League player of interest to West Ham is Arsenal’s Reiss Nelson, who could look for a move that provides him wi blocked from dth more regular first-team football.
The 24-year-old trails Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard in the pecking order at Arsenal and started only one Premier League match last season. It is thought that he could be available for a fee in the region of £15 million to £20 million.
West Ham have already invested around £25 million in Brazilian winger Luis Guilherme, who has joined from Palmeiras on a five-year contract. The 18-year-old is a Brazilian youth international who has represented his country at under-17 and under-20 level.
