Kaizer Chiefs’ problems have mounted as the club has confirmed that defender Edmilson Dove suffered an injury during the ongoing pre-season camp in Turkiye.
Amakhosi left South Africa a week ago to prepare for the 2024/25 Premier Soccer League campaign in Istanbul under the watchful eye of coach Nabi.
On Sunday morning, Chiefs confirmed that defender Dove will not take part in the preparations anymore after picking up an injury.
“Kaizer Chiefs’ defender Edmilson Dove has joined the Club’s injury list after he suffered an injury during Friday’s session at Amakhosi’s pre-season training camp in Türkiye,” Chiefs stated.
“The Mozambican international has been examined by the medical team in camp. He will leave Türkiye and head back to South Africa for a full assessment and medical attention.
“We wish him, and the rest of the injured fellows a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing them back on the training grounds and field of play soon.”
Dove joins the injury list that consists of three midfielders including Tebogo Potsane, Mduduzi Mdantsane, and George Matlou, and versatile defender Dillan Solomons.
Nabi is busy rebuilding his squad with a mixture of senior and young players. The proven winner would want to see his injured players recover in time before the season starts.
