LAS VEGAS – Jaimie Jaquez Jr. poured in 29 points to lead the Miami Heat to a 119-114 victory over the Boston Celtics in the NBA 2K25 Summer League at Cox Pavilion in Las Vegas on Saturday.
The game got off to a high-scoring start as the Celtics took a 32-28 lead after one quarter. The Heat picked up the pace and outscored the Celtics 33-21 in the second to claim an eight-point advantage by halftime. Both sides came out strong in the third, where the Celtics grabbed a brief lead, before the Heat rallied back to a seven-point cushion heading into the final frame. The pace kept up through the fourth, but the Heat stayed in control the rest of the way to close out the win.
Jaquez Jr. shot 10-for-18 from the field and added 11 rebounds, five assists and a steal in 31 minutes of action as he led the way for the Heat. Josh Christopher followed up with 20 points, two rebounds, three assists and three steals, while Kel’el Ware logged 17 points, three rebounds, three assists and three blocks.
Jaden Springer led the Celtics with 23 points, two rebounds, six assists and two steals in 25 minutes. Neemias Queta followed up with 20 points, nine rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block, while JD Davison turned in 19 points, three rebounds and seven assists.
Both teams will be back in action Monday, with the Heat taking on the Thunder while the Celtics face the Lakers.
