France have suspended Melvyn Jaminet after a video of him making a racist comment was shared on social media.
The 25-year-old full-back shared a video on his Instagram account after kicking a penalty in France’s 28-13 victory over Argentina on Saturday.
‘I promise, the first Arab I see on the road, I’ll headbutt him,’ Jaminet is alleged to have said.
The video was later deleted from his account but has since been widely circulated online.
The French Rugby Federation issued a statement condemning his remarks and noting that he had been removed from the tour of Argentina.
The French Rugby Federation (FTR) condemned the 25-year-old’s comments, saying: “Such comments are totally unacceptable and are contrary to the fundamental values of our sport.
“As a consequence, Melvyn Jaminet has been removed from and has left the France squad currently in Argentina.
