In the past, the Kaizer Chiefs management has been accused of signing players for incoming coaches and it ended up badly.
In the ongoing transfer window, there is not much that has been done regarding the new players. The Glamour Boys have signed just one player – Bongani Sam from Orlando Pirates.
A couple of days ago, the club confirmed Nasreddine Nabi as their coach, and former Amakhosi midfielder Josta Dladla insists the Tunisian should have a free hand in bringing in players.
“Let us be honest, we know Chiefs have not been doing well for a long time,” the former South Africa international said in a presser.
“That’s when you realize it is a big team. Even though they are not doing well, people still want to talk about them. You have coach Nabi coming through; Chiefs are at the bottom and nobody expects anything from them.
“Nabi is here to rebuild the team and as a coach coming into a team that is now struggling. It is not going to be easy because. He will want to come with his own players. I just hope that the management will give him the freedom to do what he wants,” Dladla continued.
“If he fails, he can’t blame anybody because they gave him everything that he wanted.”
