P.J. Tucker, a veteran of the LA Clippers, is not happy with his position. Shams Charania of The Athletic was the first to report that Tucker was unhappy about being cut from LA’s rotation and that other contenders were keeping an eye on the matter.
The Miami Heat and Milwaukee Bucks have “a healthy level of admiration” for Tucker, according to a recent report from Marc Stein.
This now provides Tucker with two options in the event that he and the Clippers split ways. Naturally, Tucker would be reunited with both of these clubs, having played for Miami the next year and assisted Milwaukee in winning a title in 2021.
Tucker’s path to playing time with the Clippers doesn’t appear to exist at the moment, as Amir Coffey and Kobe Brown have both surpassed him in the rotation.
Tucker has stated that he would like to play, whether in Los Angeles or somewhere else, even if it appears the Clippers would be willing to keep him as a veteran presence and situational player.
Since Tucker has a $11.5 million player option for the 2024–2025 campaign, trading him will be challenging. Though it seems unlikely at this point that a team will readily take on this payroll for the upcoming campaign, Miami and Milwaukee might be interested in the veteran forward enough to commit to the last year of his contract.
