It’s hard to say anybody has more will have more momentum heading into training camp than Blake Corum. With Kyren Williams missing OTAs with a foot injury, Corum got more looks than he might have otherwise and took advantage of it. This is a player that the Rams selected in the third round and really like as a complement to Williams.

Much like Puka Nacua last year, Corum is taking advantage of a player ahead of him missing time. Nacua built that trust with Sean McVay, showing he can take in a lot of information and that led to playing a large role on offense in the regular season. Corum will need to continue to build that trust and show that he can be relied on in pass protection, but this was a very good start.

Coming out of the draft, there was a lot of excitement surrounding safety Kam Kinchens as being a potential third-round steal. Kinchens had 11 interceptions and was a big playmaker for Miami over the last two years. It was thought that Kinchens may even have a chance to start.

This isn’t to say that can’t or won’t still happen. With that said, there hasn’t been anything said about Kinchens from the coaching staff or written about the rookie by the media. Everything has been quiet around the Rams rookie safety. That could change during training camp and when preseason games start to get played. However, Kinchens’ stalk has cooled since the draft.

Jared Verse was a large topic of conversation throughout OTAs and seemed to be a player that the coaches loved even without pads. Despite Verse making an impression and Byron Young’s speed popping off the tape, the Rams are going to need to find a rotational pass rusher in the edge group. A player that they’ll be looking to take the next step in his second year in Nick Hampton.

McVay said that he’s seen Hampton take strides in the right direction and The Athletic’s Jourdan Rodrigue mentioned Hampton as a player that she’ll have an eye on in training camp once the pads get put on. This is a player that the Rams need to be able to step up and he may be building some momentum.
