A disability and supporting disabilities affect one in six Australians. In an effort to draw attention to the large number of Australians who live with physical, mental, sensory, or cognitive impairments that affect their everyday lives, Australia has teamed up with the Bulldogs. The two organizations hope to promote acceptance, awareness, and inclusivity on match day.
Providing Assistance for Disability Australia is a leader in offering comprehensive support services that improve the quality of life and general well-being of people with disabilities and their families. These services include accommodation, in-home support, and assistance with disabilities. Its steadfast dedication to having a positive influence fits in perfectly with the Bulldogs’ basic beliefs as an all-inclusive, community-focused Club with strong family values.
This week, while touring and commemorating the opening of their newest site in Sefton, NSW, SDA gave the Bulldogs an exclusive peek at the amazing work that they do for individuals and families in need of support. The new location offers assisted independent living with priority access to community-based services for the disabled.
At the site, where they were welcomed by SDA participants, caregivers, and staff, Bulldogs alumni Terry Lamb and Josh Reynolds were joined by current players Josh Addo-Carr, Ryan Sutton, Karl Oloapu, and Bulldogs staff, including CEO Aaron Warburton.
Bulldogs CEO Aaron Warburton stated, “We at the Bulldogs believe in the power of community and the strength that comes from supporting one another.”
During our visit, we had conversations with several people about the difficulties they deal with on a daily basis and how SDA’s services and support help them to thrive. In an effort to improve the lives of those who live with disabilities, we are honored to collaborate with the Supporting Disabilities Australia team on this special match. Our shared goal is to build a more welcoming and encouraging community for everybody.”
