Kaizer Chiefs-linked coach Nasreddine Nabi has spoken on his future amid his imminent departure from the Moroccan side AS FAR Rabat.
Nabi fell short of leading his team to league glory. They relinquished the Botola Pro League top spot with Raja Casablanca eventually crowned champions under the former Orlando Pirates coach Josef Zinnbauer and his SA assistant coach Fadlu Davids.
The 58-year-old tactician joined the Moroccan outfit from Young Africans at the beginning of the season. He has been in charge in 35 matches, winning 25, drawing five and losing five.
Nabi still has a chance to end his tenure at Rabat on a high note. His troops will face MAS Fès in the Throne Cup semi-final next week. The other semi-final features Raja Casablanca, the newly crowned league champions, against MC Oujda.
He revealed that Kaizer Chiefs weren’t the only club to make an offer; he had several proposals on the table.
However, he emphasised his current focus on securing the Throne Cup, which would offer some solace after the league disappointment.
“The South African offer was not the only one, but rather I received several offers. But I will have a meeting with the team (Rabat) president (Mohamed Haramou) to talk about this issue,” Nabi said as quoted by Goal.com.
“I am currently focusing on the cup semi-final match against Maghreb Fez. I tried to raise the morale of the players and told them that there is still a chance to win [the Throne Cup].”
