Broady reached the third round last year and will be eying a return to the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club this summer.

However, his preparations may have been scuppered by an unusual injury that took place off the court ahead of the Nottingham Open.

“Tried to practise yesterday and got a pretty bad migraine. Turns out I have a concussion! So won’t be ready for Nottingham. Hopefully Ilkley if all goes to plan.”

Whilst Broady will likely be gutted to miss out on the action in the East Midlands, former world no.1 Andy Murray wasn’t shy to mock his fellow Brit.

Tennis legend and serial clay court winner Rafael Nadal crashed out in the first round and says it’s looking ‘difficult’ to make an appearance at Wimbledon.

Broady may well be fit and ready for the tournament though, with just under a month to go until the action returns to SW19.

Carlos Alcaraz claimed last year’s men’s title by beating Djokovic in the final to claim his second Grand Slam victory.

He will likely be a favourite to win again this time round, although he could face stiff competition from Australian Open winner and French Open semi-finalist Jannik Sinner.
