It’s a good thing the Heart of Racing Team enjoys motorsports. The team can typically be found on a racetrack somewhere in the world almost every weekend. After competing in two different series at last weekend’s SRO Motorsports weekend at Sebring International Raceway, the team is now gearing up for another IMSA/WEC weekend, with cars competing in Belgium and California.
The driving tandem of Ian James, Daniel Mancinelli and Alex Riberas will be competing in the World Endurance Championship’s Totalenergies 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, which is the race the team made its WEC debut in last year.
“I’m very much looking forward to Spa with the Heart of Racing,” he said. “Both Dani and Ian know the track really well and the layout of the track fits the Aston Martin Vantage very well. I’m fairly confident we can deliver a good performance and continue to develop, grow, and fine tune all the different protocols we have been working on. Qatar and Imola were both very strong and this will be the last opportunity to fine tune everything before the Le Mans 24 Hours.”
The WEC team is off to a strong start in the LMGT3 class after second- and fifth-place finishes in the first two races of the season. The team is sitting in third place in the season standings and had a solid third-place finish in Thursday morning’s first practice session.
