Since being chosen as the number one overall pick in the 2024 WNBA draft by the Indiana Fever, Caitlin Clark has been up against a tough schedule. The Fever started off the season with a grueling seven games in just 14 days, the most of any team in the league during that time period.

Despite the team only securing one win, Clark has been putting on a stellar performance. The former Iowa Hawkeye has been averaging 15.4 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 6.3 assists in under 32 minutes per game.

Recently, a concerning post featuring Clark went viral, showing her arm covered in bruises. This caused a stir among WNBA fans, sparking worry for Clark’s well-being.

Among the comments were sentiments of concern and support for Clark: “Her arm, my girl is getting beat up in this league”, said one fan; “Her ankles has been taking a beating also. So glad she has a few days to let it heal”, comment another; “It was her showing Kate all her bruises before the game the other night for me. Indy you promised to take care of our girl”, add one more. “It’s sad. They are allowing the defenders to hold her, push her, bump her. You don’t see other players guarded like this”, said another.

The concerns raised by fans highlight the physical toll that playing at such a high level can take on athletes, especially rookies like Clark. The outpouring of support also underscores the strong connection between players and their fans, as well as the empathy and understanding within the basketball community.

As Clark continues to navigate her rookie season in the WNBA, it’s clear that she has not only captured the attention of fans with her impressive skills on the court but also their hearts with her resilience in the face of physical challenges.
