The Cleveland Browns have done a great job of adding talent and versatility to the team this offseason, and they could continue to work on the tight end room within the next couple of months.

The team doesn’t have a lot of “holes” to fill as of right now, but it’s easy to see that the tight end room lacks depth behind David Njoku and Jordan Akins. It’s yet to be seen how the Browns’ new offense will look and what their plans are for the position but Cleveland usually likes to have at least three viable options there.

Though the tight end market isn’t as bolsterous or plentiful as it was at the beginning of free agency, there are three players still available that would be fits for the team both schematically and financially.

Wesco’s been more of a blocking tight end throughout his career so far, even lining up at fullback quite a few times in short-yardage situations for the Jets, Bears, and Titans. Due to his tendency of being a prototypical in-line blocker whenever on the field, Wesco’s been very effective on “pop-pass” and “TE-slip” type plays.
