The Lakers quickly axed Darvin Ham from his role as head coach after the First Round of the NBA Playoffs against the Nuggets, as elimination meant they have now gone 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024 without winning another ring or making a Finals.
But Snoop Dogg, the iconic rapper, is known for his keen and avid interest in basketball and he’s firmly in Ham’s camp. In fact, he even called for Jeanie Bussto be sacked from her role as the president of the organization.
“We’re used to winning championships”, Snoop Dogg told Stephen A. Smith. “We’re not used to being knocked out of the first round, barely getting to the playoffs. As fans, we pay her (Buss) to make the right moves. No championship, no job.”
The rapper and hip-hop star added, “it wasn’t his fault,” when asked about Ham’s exit. The comments come shortly after Shaquille O’Neal called for the Lakers to get back to winning ways.
“This is a storied franchise, a historical franchise,” O’Neal, who won four NBA championships, said. “And we’re used to winning. We’re all about winning …. so changes will definitely be made.”
LeBron James, despite being the age of 39, remains the most lethal player on the team and one of the best in the whole Western Conference and NBA, which is remarkably impressive considering his age.
Yet time is running out for him to achieve another championship or to realize his dream of playing with his son, Bronny, and O’Neal declared the Lakers need a top coach to keep his interest.
