A return to the game in a senior capacity would therefore represent a nostalgic moment for many football fans.

For Aston Villa, the reported move would come at a time of significant change around the club. Emery remains in charge and has overseen an important period of development at Villa Park. The club finished fourth in the 2025/26 Premier League season and also won the UEFA Europa League, underlining the scale of Emery’s recent work.

A senior position for a former football star such as Beardsley could potentially involve supporting the club’s football structure, mentoring younger players or contributing experience away from the pitch. However, the exact responsibilities of the reported role have not been officially established.

At present, there is no verified official Aston Villa announcement confirming Peter Beardsley’s appointment. Aston Villa’s current club directory lists Unai Emery as head coach and provides the club’s existing senior football structure.

If the reported return were eventually confirmed, it would undoubtedly create considerable excitement among supporters and add another fascinating chapter to Beardsley’s long association with English football.

{"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false

1
132
post-24545","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-uncategorized","tag-aston-villa-fc
<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.1 -
