Although McInnes had been working hard to establish his philosophy at Ibrox, disagreements over squad management, tactical decisions and future recruitment allegedly became increasingly difficult to resolve.

The report claims that Rangers officials held an emergency meeting before reaching the decision to terminate McInnes’ contract. The board allegedly believed that a change in leadership was necessary to move the club forward and maintain its ambitions domestically and in European competition.

News of the supposed dismissal immediately caused an emotional reaction among supporters. Some fans were said to be disappointed by the decision, particularly because McInnes had only recently taken charge and had been attempting to build a new team capable of challenging for major honours.

There is also a suggestion that senior players were surprised by the development. Several members of the squad were allegedly unhappy with the sudden decision and questioned whether changing managers at this stage would create further instability.

The storyline also raises questions about who could replace McInnes. Rangers would potentially face the difficult task of identifying a new manager capable of handling the expectations that come with leading one of Scotland’s biggest clubs.

However, it is important to separate this fictional scenario from the real situation. As of September 25, 2026, there is no confirmed evidence that Derek McInnes has been sacked by Rangers. Rangers’ own recent coverage continues to feature McInnes as manager, while the club’s official website reported his reaction after Rangers defeated Celtic 1–0 on September 20.

Indeed, recent results provide a very different picture from the fictional headline. Rangers defeated Celtic 3–0 in the League Cup before winning 1–0 at Celtic Park, giving McInnes consecutive Old Firm victories.

{"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false

1
121
post-24400","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-uncategorized","tag-rangers-fc
<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.1 -
