The alleged decision has sparked intense debate among supporters, with many demanding greater transparency and accountability in football officiating.

The controversy follows Rangers’ 1–0 victory over Celtic in the Scottish Premiership on September 20, 2026. Referee John Beaton was at the centre of debate after several disputed decisions, including a challenge involving Rangers defender Emmanuel Fernandez that prompted criticism from pundits and former referees.

According to the scenario, UEFA has allegedly launched a disciplinary investigation into Beaton’s performance, with claims of a record financial fine and a permanent ban from officiating football matches. However, no verified announcement confirming these alleged sanctions has been identified.

The situation has further intensified discussions about refereeing standards, the use of VAR and the importance of consistent decision-making during high-profile matches. Supporters of both clubs continue to debate the controversial moments, while calls for a transparent review of officiating decisions remain part of the wider football conversation.

As the story continues to circulate, the key question is whether any official disciplinary proceedings will be announced by the relevant football authorities. Until an authenticated statement is released, claims of a permanent ban or the highest possible fine against John Beaton should be treated as unverified.

<div style="font-size: 0px; height:
