During his playing career, he became the club’s record goalscorer and won numerous major honours, including nine consecutive league championships during Rangers’ famous title run.

A legendary figure returns

The proposed move would represent an emotional reunion between McCoist and the club where he established himself as a legendary striker.

McCoist also previously managed Rangers, taking charge in 2011 after serving as Walter Smith’s assistant. His managerial spell came during one of the most difficult periods in the club’s modern history, including the financial crisis that resulted in Rangers being placed into the lower divisions.

Under the fictional scenario described in this report, McCoist’s new agreement would keep him involved with Rangers until the end of 2030, giving the club a major figure with enormous knowledge of its traditions and expectations.

McCoist’s ambitious vision

The central message of McCoist’s proposed return would be transformation.

His vision would reportedly focus on building a stronger Rangers identity, developing young Scottish talent, improving recruitment and restoring the club’s reputation as one of the dominant forces in Scottish football.

The legendary striker would also be expected to place particular emphasis on the relationship between the club, its players and the Rangers supporters.

For McCoist, Rangers have always represented more than simply a football club. His previous time in charge came during an exceptionally difficult period, and he remained committed to the club despite the enormous challenges surrounding it.

Supporters react

News of a possible long-term McCoist return would naturally generate enormous excitement among Rangers supporters.

For many fans, seeing one of the club’s greatest-ever goalscorers back inside Ibrox would be a powerful reminder of Rangers’ history and traditions.

The prospect of McCoist helping shape the club’s future through 2030 would also raise expectations, particularly regarding youth development, recruitment and the club’s ambitions in European competition.

A new Rangers era?

If such a deal were ever officially confirmed, it would represent one of the most nostalgic appointments in Rangers’ modern history.

McCoist’s status as a Rangers icon is already secure. He spent 15 years as a player at the club, scoring a remarkable number of goals and collecting major honours before later returning as a coach and manager.

<div style="font-size: 0px; height:
