The allegations have sparked intense debate among football fans, pundits, and former players worldwide.

Sources claim that FIFA’s disciplinary bodies launched an immediate investigation after receiving multiple complaints regarding the officiating performance. The governing body is said to have examined match footage, VAR communications, and official reports before reaching its reported conclusion.

The reported sanctions would represent one of the most severe punishments ever imposed on a top-level football referee, sending a strong message about accountability and integrity within the sport.

Neither FIFA nor Maurizio Mariani has publicly commented on the reports. Football supporters across the globe now await an official statement to clarify the situation and determine the future implications for refereeing standards at the highest level of the game.

The football world has been rocked
