The Tennessee Vols reportedly received a visit from an elite transfer offensive lineman this weekend.
According to On3’s Pete Nakos, LSU offensive tackle Zalance Heard visited Oklahoma on Friday before finishing his weekend with a trip to Tennessee.
Heard, a former five-star recruit who was a true freshman for the Tigers last season, entered the NCAA transfer portal this week after playing in all 12 regular season games (with one start) for LSU in 2023.
The Louisiana native would fill a great need for volunteersTennessee needs to land a transfer offensive tackle after Gerald Mincey, who started at right tackle for the Vols in 2023, entered the portal earlier this week.
Mincey had already transferred from Florida to Tennessee ahead of the 2022 season. The Vols are also trying to make a push for relocation.

Over the past two seasons, Bru McCoy has been a deadly weapon for the Volunteers.
Last season, Bru had 17 receptions, one touchdown and 217 yards before suffering a devastating injury that sidelined him for the remainder of the 2023 season.
The previous season, the Vol receiver had 52 receptions, four touchdowns and 667 yards while playing alongside Biletnikoff Award winner Jalin Hyatt and former 1,000-yard receiver Cedric Tillman.
Tennessee also picked up some threats. Chris Brazzell is one of several threats they added during the early part of the Portal season, when he announced on Dec. 21 that he would transfer to Tennessee.
He is an All-American freshman and is coming off a great season at Tulane. His stats were 44 receptions for 711 yards and five touchdowns.
Tennessee also added the first tight end in the Holden Stars transfer portal from Notre Dame. Staes made 15 receptions for 176 yards and four touchdowns for the Fighting Irish.
They also recruited well, bringing in five-star Mike Matthews and four-star Braylon Staley.
The large reception room as a whole will look slightly different, but will also look extremely dominant.
