Eight years after being named the NFL MVP in 2015, it’s evident that former Panthers quarterback Cam Newton disagrees with 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy and Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott’s selections as the 2023 MVP favorites.
With his unsuccessful “I’m baaaack” comeback to start for the Panthers in 2021, Newton, who is only 34 years old, has not been in the league. Despite all the quarterback injury attrition over the last two seasons, he hasn’t even received calls to suit up for any team as a backup a la Joe Flacco.
After failing to convince the Patriots in 2020 that he would be a superior choice than first-round rookie Mac Jones, who is currently benched in favor of Bailey Zappe, Newton has kept himself occupied this season by going after the majority of the elite starting passers, phoning both Purdy

“If we’re really going to call a spade a spade, a game manager is different from a game-changer.”
Whoa, man. That’s one way to enrage the fan bases of the two NFC’s best teams—the Panthers, led by Newton, are the worst team in the league, to put it mildly. Furthermore
