After the NFC Pro Bowl snub, Amon-Ra St. Brown gets agitated and determined.
During practice on Thursday, Amon-Ra St. Brown addressed the media from his locker room stall, expressing his disappointment. The talented wide receiver for the Detroit Lions said he was “hot” over not making the initial Pro Bowl roster.

The wide receivers chosen for the NFC Pro Bowl were Mike Evans of Tampa Bay, A.J. Brown of Philadelphia, Puka Nacua of the Los Angeles Rams, and CeeDee Lamb of Dallas. St. Brown acknowledged their brilliance but acknowledged that he was annoyed by their exclusion.
With eight receiving games of 100 yards or more this season, which ties him for the league lead with Tyreek Hill and Lamb, St. Brown has had an incredible season. For the Lions, who finished 11-5 and won their first division since 1993, he has amassed impressive stats of 112 receptions, 1,371 yards, and 10 touchdowns.
St. Brown’s 112 receptions this season are tied with Hill for second most in the NFL and are the third-highest totals for a Lions player in a season, only surpassed by Herman Moore’s 123 in 1995 and Calvin Johnson’s 122 in 2012. Even after his outstanding performance, St. Brown acknowledged that he could have done more.
St. Brown recognised the accomplishments of his Lions teammates, Sam LaPorta, Frank Ragnow, Aidan Hutchinson, Penei Sewell, and Jalen Reeves-Maybin (special teams), who were all named to the Pro Bowl. In particular, Hutchinson called his nomination to the Pro Bowl “amazing” and stressed that he is currently concentrating on the next playoff run.
St. Brown, a first alternate, is still hopeful about making the Pro Bowl, particularly in the event that the Lions do not make it to the Super Bowl. The 2021 fourth-round selection, who is still aware of all 16 receivers selected before him at No. 112, views this rejection as inspiration to work even harder.
St. Brown responded, “Yeah, gotta go harder,” vowing to stoke his competitive fire even more in the wake of the Pro Bowl exclusion.
