CLUB IN CRISIS: Parramatta Board Responds to Moses’ ‘Release Request’ Bombshell

In a dramatic development that has shaken CommBank Stadium, the Parramatta Eels Board has officially addressed the swirling reports that captain Mitchell Moses has requested a release from his long-term contract. Chairman Matthew Beach, speaking on behalf of the directors, issued a “no-nonsense” message to head coach Jason Ryles, the playing group, and the fans, declaring that the club will not be “held to ransom” by any individual player, regardless of their status. Beach emphasized that the club’s focus remains on fixing the defensive lapses that saw them concede 36 points to the Warriors just days ago.
The board’s statement was followed by a blunt “Exclusive Statement” from Mitchell Moses, who reportedly broke his silence to express his frustration. Moses allegedly claimed that while he remains proudly blue-and-gold, the constant injury toll and lack of clear recruitment direction have left him questioning if his window for a premiership is closing. “I love this club, but my focus is on winning, and right now, the community is buzzing for reasons that have nothing to do with football,” the captain was quoted as saying.
Despite the tension, coach Jason Ryles has stood firm, refusing to blame injuries for the team’s current 15th-place standing. While the board attempts to remove restrictive clauses in his contract to lock him in until 2029, the uncertainty has left the Eels’ faithful in a state of shock. With a crucial clash against the North Queensland Cowboys looming, the club is racing to project a unified front before the season spirals further out of control.
