Steve Ogrizovic remains one of the greatest and most respected figures in Coventry City’s history. Known for his incredible consistency, leadership, and shot-stopping ability, he served the club with distinction for over 15 years and became a true symbol of loyalty at Highfield Road.

Born in Liverpool, Ogrizovic began his professional career before eventually joining Coventry City in 1984, a move that would define his football legacy. Over the years, he made more than 600 appearances for the club, becoming the undisputed number one goalkeeper for over a decade.

One of the highlights of his career came in 1987 when he played a key role in Coventry City’s historic FA Cup victory. His performances between the posts helped secure one of the most memorable achievements in the club’s history.

Ogrizovic was known for his commanding presence, sharp reflexes, and ability to produce crucial saves in high-pressure moments. Even as he aged, he maintained top-level performances, earning respect from teammates, opponents, and fans alike.

After retiring in 2000, he remained with Coventry City in coaching roles, working closely with goalkeepers and serving in caretaker managerial positions when needed. His dedication to the club has made him a lifelong ambassador for Coventry City.
