During the CFP era, the Clemson football programme was a constant in the college football playoffs, participating in 11 games and taking home two national titles in four trips.

Since the departure of legendary college football quarterback Trevor Lawrence, the Tigers have struggled to recover and have actually regressed over the last few seasons. Though they haven’t been awful, Clemson hasn’t always been a playoff contender.

What then needs to happen in order for the Tigers to qualify for the CFP once more in 2024? That is exactly what the Tigers need to achieve this season to qualify for the new 12-team postseason ($$$), according to a recent ESPN report.

If Clemson defeats Georgia to start the season, then The Tigers will undoubtedly be discussed as being “back.” Although they are still double-digit point underdogs, Clemson has a great opportunity, so expectations aren’t high.

Even a close game against Georgia would be encouraging because they are predicted to be the best team in the nation when the 2024 season begins. In actuality, the Tigers should be able to win the conference, even though defeating the SEC would be extremely significant in 2024.

If you win the ACC, you are in. They are fully capable of doing so with the talent on this team.
