Concern has spread across the rugby league community following reports that former Penrith Panthers head coach Anthony Griffin is currently battling a health issue. Sources close to the veteran coach say he has been feeling unwell in recent days, prompting friends, former players, and supporters to send messages of encouragement and support.

Griffin, who guided the Panthers between 2016 and 2018, is widely respected for helping the club remain competitive and guiding them to consecutive finals appearances during his tenure. During his time at Penrith he recorded a strong win–loss record and played a major role in developing several young talents who later became key figures in the team’s success.

While details about the illness have not yet been officially disclosed, people close to Griffin say he is receiving medical care and taking time away from football activities to focus on recovery. Supporters across the National Rugby League (NRL) community have taken to social media to express their well-wishes for the respected coach.

Many within the game remember Griffin as a dedicated and disciplined mentor who also coached teams such as the Brisbane Broncos and later the St. George Illawarra Dragons during his long career in professional rugby league. Colleagues and fans alike are now hoping for positive news as updates about his health are awaited.
