The release of a new video game that allows players to simulate NCAA football on Sony PlayStation and Microsoft Xbox systems has been long awaited by college football fans and gamers. That wait seems to be almost over, having lasted more than ten years.
Previously known as “NCAA Football,” EA Sports made an official announcement last week that it would be relaunching its highly anticipated college football franchise sometime this summer. The title of the game is going to be “EA Sports College Football 25.”
The video game is slated to be released later this summer, most likely in July or August, however the identity of the cover artist and other specifics are still pending.
NCAA Football 14 was the last college football game that EA Sports released. Denard Robinson, a former quarterback for Michigan, was on the cover of that game. In 2013, a succession of disputes pertaining to name, image, and resemblance led to the cancellation of the “NCAA” series.
Clemson supporters who downloaded rosters from other online gamers and didn’t hang onto their PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 consoles are missing out on the opportunity to play with many of the legendary Tigers from the Dabo Swinney era.
In light of this, we made a list of former Clemson football players that we know both fans and players will enjoy playing with on EA’s upcoming college football series—assuming the game’s developers choose to grant users access to former players.
the Dabo Swinney era’s “OG GOAT.” Watson, by whatever name you choose, was the quarterback who ignited Clemson’s unprecedented success between 2015 and 2020.
In 2015, he had a part in leading the Tigers to the national championship game; in 2016, he won it with a touchdown pass to Hunter Renfrow that ended a thrilling 35-31 victory over Alabama with only one second remaining. Watson qualified for the Heisman Trophy both years.
Watson was not closely followed by Lawrence, but there wasn’t much of a gulf between the two signal-callers.
Kelly Bryant led Clemson to a 15-0 record and a 44-16 victory over Alabama in the 2018 national championship game before Lawrence took over the club halfway through the 2018 campaign.
Lawrence had been Kelly Bryant’s quarterback for the previous year and a half. He was a finalist for the Heisman Trophy in 2020, just like Watson.
